The Garden:

Good Feng Shui is achieved through the integration of exterior and interior spaces. This garden before had very depleted soil, and a diseased tree. The new landscape design incorporates the color scheme of red, black, and green and flows with the same color palette to the interior of the home. The undulating earthy red flagstone creates flow up to the front door, while the fountain at the front door facilitates fluidity in career and the black bamboo in the wealth area of the garden supports abundance. The heavy boulder in the center of the garden creates a sense of groundedness in the overall design and a sense of stability for the residents.

The Kitchen:

The original kitchen of this home was a dark, 1960’s galley kitchen. A wall was removed to open the space and doubled the overall square footage. The new kitchen encompasses the five elements of Feng Shui: the Italian tiles brings in earth or grounding energy, the stainless steel appliances brings in metal or healthy boundaries, the black granite countertops adds water or fluidity, the red in the mosaic tile border and in the wall art, the lighting, and the stove bring in fire or power, and the sea green wall color adds wood or growth to the space. In addition, a mirror over the stove doubles the prosperity of the occupants.

The Master Suite:

Before any renovations could begin, space clearing was used to remove negative “predecessor Ch’i” or energy from the former occupants of illness and addictions. Next, once walls were torn down, soothing music was played to counterbalance the disruption of construction of the room.

The master suite overhaul involved redesigning an enclosed sun porch incorporating it thereby, making the room twice its original size. The two tones of gold on the walls, along with the red drapery and accent pillows helped create a romantic boudoir and a relaxing retreat space reinforcing the Feng Shui focus of intimacy and rest in the bedroom.

The Bathroom:

The original bathroom had a small shower stall and a single sink; the space also housed the closets for the room. New closets were built in the now larger master bedroom allowing the bathroom to double in size. The shower stall was enlarged; a double sink vanity was installed to attract a healthy relationship, and an intimate Jacuzzi tub was added. Mirrors were used to pop open the space visually making the room seem at least twice its size.
